Problem in getting SUM of Running Total Field

Hi buddy...

i m creating a report as below

--------------------------
Report Head ==>>> | Field1 |
--------------------------
Field2 Field3 Field4 Field5 Field6 Field7
--------------------------

Detail Section Here.....

--------------------------
sum(Field7)
--------------------------

Field7 is my Running Formula Field. i.e. Field7= (Field1 + Field5 - Field6)
nd thats working well.

Working ::

i m generating a report that nd gets the sum of Field7 as far as there is some record in details.

but when there is no record in the details section Sum of Field7 shows me nothing,
where as i am required to display the value of Field1 in it if there is nothing in the details section.

He who give solution will be considered a well qualified person.

In the summary part give field 7 as the field to summarize and typeof summary is sum

In the evaluate column check the 'for each record' and

In the reset column check the 'on chage of group'

Problem in generating Excel worksheets

In the Report Designer, I insert some page breaks after data regions. When
exporting to excel format, the pages are displayed as several worksheets in
the excel. But I found no way to specify the name of worksheet in Report
Designer.Is there any ways to do that?

report. When exporting to excel, page breaks after a data region on your
report are interepreted as a new worksheet. I'm not sure if this is on the
wishlist or this capability will be included in RS 2005.

Problem in form Authentication

Dear All,
I have problem while calling my report from report server using URL METHOD.
we have config'red our reporting service using forms Authentication.
(so we have login page)
My problem is i have to call the report, using URL METHOD, by supressing
that login page
why becos, some Credentials i will get it from my aplication.
Pls guide me how to supress and call the report from codebehind using URL
METHOD.

Problem in exporting Report with multiline textbox to Excel

I am facing a problem while exporting reports to Excel.
My report contains a multilined textbox - which is displayed correctly in Report Design.

Following is code of report Statistics contents to be displayed in a textbox: ="Report Statistics " & vbcrlf & "Date : " & Format(Globals!ExecutionTime, "MMM dd yyyy tt”) & vbcrlf & "By : " & User!UserID

Problem Description: In Excel - one extra line is added between each line

Sample output of report exported in Ms Excel 2003:

Correct Output Required:

Everything worked fine for me. I added a text box and set the expression to above text and it works perfectly. Was there anything else you were doing?

Problem in Export to PDF or Excel

My report contains some Korean wording. When I export to PDF, the Korean
word appear as ?. Then I export the report in Excel format, there is no
problem in the Korean wording. But when I try to print it, the default page
orientation is 'Landscape' and there is default left and right margin no
matter how I adjust the report size in reporting services. Can anybody help
me ?You should be able to fix the orientation to landscape by switching the size
of the page (8.5x11 versus 11x8.5).

Problem in Drillthrough report

Hi Friends,

I am very new to MSSQL Reporting service 2005. I wanted to create a drithrough report. I have created a master report using a cube created using MSSQL Analysis service 2005. The master report contains a column called 'Territory', which details some other columns also. My child report contains the same 'Territory' column, but with displays some other detailed information. If I click on the territory column data on master report, it should take me to child report where it should show only Territory which matches with the master territory.

I have created both master & child reports. In my master report, Jump to Report, I have given the name of my child report. In my child report, if I have created a hidden parameter by providing available value through query. But while clicking the territory column master report I'm getting error parameter xxx is missing a value. If I uncheck as hidden parameter it pops up for the value & it works.

How to go about it, can someone help?

Hi,

Its a long time ago as I had built my last report - but at the Jump to Report there is also a part where you map the Target Report Paramter to something of your current Report. There you have to specify the value for Target Report Parameter - your current Territory.

If you not specify the paramters it get set to the default parameter of null - which seems to be not allowed for your parameter.

It looks like this is more related to report server - I recommend you to post your question there if my hint does not help.

Mabe someone from MS moves it to the report server forum.

I created a stored procedure which returns a dataset
that is passed to crystal report like this

dset = SqlHelper.ExecuteDataset(CommandType.StoredProcedure, "spr_CR_Demo2")

dset.Tables(0).TableName = "spr_CR_Demo2"

crystal.SetDataSource(dset)
CrystalReportViewer2.ReportSource = crystal

But only one record get displayed,how can i do it

Problem in Crystl Report Viewer.CloseView Method

My Self Sanjeev. i want to ask about crystal report viewer control. i am using crystal report 8.5 version. i using crviewer to view the report. by crviewer.viewreport() i view the reoprt now i want to close the view, so i use crviewer.closeview(index) method but it gives error. index parameter not accepting string data type. and also not 1,-1,0 to close the view. i use activeindex of crviewer but not woking. so please help me to solve this problem. i needed it veru much

SanjeevLooks like something is wrong with dealing with viewObject. Did u use AddView method to add ViewerObject. It's not picking the index properly.

I see this particular function :

closeCurrentView
If the canCloseCurrentView property is True, closes the current view. Equivalent to the Close button in the toolbar. A viewClosed and a viewActivated event are fired. The currentViewName property is changed.

Syntax
void closeCurrentView ()

check whether this server our purpose.

I want to create 1 DLL file which includs several reports in it. and i will add reference of that file to my VB Project. So i used Crystal 8.5 and Vb 6.0. i create 1 dll but with ne VB form which have the crystal report viewer control shows the Report which i passed through VB. now when i close the Form of viewer. Dll component does not get closed. i.e. the instance of the object is not closed and project goes into HangUp position. if so i want to close the view first so i can set the object to nothing.

So please help me to di it.

problem in crystal report printing

i have developed a report in crystal report having field object with multiple lines. preview is perfect but it doesn't print in some dot matrix printer. please help me in this regard. thanks in advance.if printer is different then output may vary. use different printer setting for different printers.

Problem in Charting

I am dynamically generating the RDL for a chart,but i am not able to show markers on the X-Axis when the report is generated.

FYI ,I am creating a orthographic column chart.

Any ideas?

Markers can be turned on using the Chart properties dialog in VS.NET.

In the Data tab, Select the Values you want to display makers. Cick "Edit". Then on the Appearance tab, click the Show markers checkbox.

Problem in calling SQL Server Report through URL

I called a sql server report from asp.net using the following URL

http://phx-ps01/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fISTEPS_REPORT%2fEQAPCompleteActionsPHX&rs:Parameters=false&rno=" & a &"'

I passed one report parameter whhich is "a".

Report is called correctly, but the problem is parameter is not passed to the report and also parameter bar is visible on the tool bar in the report.

Is there any help that parameter value is passed correctly and parameter option is not displayed on the tool bar of the report.

Problem in Calculating Total

Hi Everybody,

I need to generate report for all the days in a current month. I have to display the total in the folg. way.

Day1 Day2 etc.
Group Name sum of amount sum of amount
from day1 to end from day2 to end
of month of month

upto end of month.

I had a problem in setting the columns. And is there any way to calculate the group wise sum with out creating groups.

If you have any idea, pls. help me

I dont think it is possible to have groupwise total without creating group. You can group,find sum and suppress group header.

But I'd done it by Cross tab. The only difference is,

instead of starting from 1st to 31st, I reversed the order from end of month to beg. of month. So I'm calculating running total easily.

although reportmanager and reportserver directory is available in its default location.

i am using my account having admin privlge

problem getting refreshed data while accessing the cube from excel(OWC)

If I save a report using a cube in an excel spreadsheet, the next time when I open it, and try to drag a dimension, I cannot see any data. I need to refresh the document every time

I process the cube.

Is there way we can automatically refresh these reports ? Has anyone had this problem

before?

In 2007, you can configure your connection to refresh data everytime the file is opened or on a fixed interval. In 2003, this appears as a Pivot Table option.

Problem formatting currency to different decimal places

I'm trying to format a field value to currency on a SQL report.

I need to allow for 4 decimal places to the right of the decimal if the field value contains those digits. (ie. $6.8484). Most of the time I will not have 4 places to the right of the decimal and would like to format according to the amout of decimal places. For example, If the value is 1 dollar, I don't want to format as $1.0000. I need a way to format the values according to the amount of digits to the right of the decimal. (ie. 1 dollar = $1.00, 3.453 = $3.453, 2.4453 = $2.4453)

Is there an easy way to do this using C2,C3, and C4? Please help.

When you say "SQL report", I suppose you mean you are using SQL Server Reporting Services.

In that case, you can just set the Format property of the textbox where you display the numeric field value to C4.

Note: if the query returns the value as string (instead of a numeric value), you will need to explicitly convert the value into its numeric representation first. You can do this in the query or directly in the report textbox by using the CDbl() function to convert a string to a double, e.g. =CDbl(Fields!SomeString.Value).

If you're hiding parameters from the user i.e. preventing user input, then you must make sure that you provide default values for your parameters within the RDL definition.

BTW, why would you want "prompt the user" set to true and then hide the parameters?

Problem extracting data from multiple list boxes

I have a report that has a header section with three detail sections. The header section contains information pertinent to a person and a situation. The detail sections each contain information pertinent to the situation and person in the header section. I have been able to format the data correctly but I am unable to have the unique information per person extracted for the three detail section. I am using data from four stored procedures, one for the header information and three for each detail section.

Are you currently grouping on person in your table? You can add detail grouping on situation, which'd group the rows with the same situation together per person. Just right click on the detail row, choose "Edit Group" to to bring up the detail grouping dialog, and type in the group expression (=Fields!situation.Value).

I'm not currently using tables due to the fact that the data is staggered on the report. However, with your suggestion of grouping on the person and situation I believe that I could put the person and situation data into tables and leave the other information in a list box. I am including a sample of the report output for your reference.

|||If you have added detail grouping on situation, you shouldn't be getting different detail rows on the same situation. What do you have in the outer groups? It'd help if you can attach a copy of your rdl.|||

|||Looks like you have one top level List (list1) and four tables inside of the list. The dataset for list1 is "dsHeaderData", since all inner data regions will use the same dataset, all your tables will use "dsHeaderData" as well. Is this the intended behavior?|||

It is not, three of the tables have their own individual datasets. I changed the rdl to include a subreport for the three detail tables without any grouping passing the situation from the subreport to the main rdl and this corrected my problem.
