problem in Installing SQl Server Management studio express _ (ctp)

I'm very new to MS SQl Server, i Downloaded MS SQl Server express edition, the problem is i can't deal with it, when i downloaded (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express - Community Technical Preview (CTP) November 2005) every time i try to install it , it give me error message says "The system administrator has set policies To Prevent this installation"
How can i over come this problem and install this interface to be able to deal with sql server?
is there any other software can do this job "making interface for the sql server express edition"?
ThxI downloaded the Nov CTP as well of the Management studio, but can't go beyond this error.

This installation package cannot be installed by the windows installer service. You must install a windows service pack that contains a newer version of the windows installer service.

I have Windows 2000 SP4 and also the Windows Installer 3.0, MSXML 6.0 Still

I have the windows installer 3.1 but yet i can't install (TCP) managment studio keep getting the same error "administrator has set policies to prevent this installation"
additional hint : - i use windows xp_sp2 - when i used to counter this problem i downloaded MS Visual Web developer express 2005 and i was able to connect to sql server, but really i'm new to sql and i need to see interface to be able to learn it at least|||Sorry for the messege, i downloaded the SQl Server Management Studio Express Again and when i tried to install it , it worked seems it was a problem in the first time i downloaded it something was wrong in it

Problem in installing SQL Server 2005 (Beta version is not getting uninstalled)

Hi All,

I had installed a beta version of SQL Server (SQL Server 2005 CTP) and now I want to install a full version of SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition on my machine. I have properly uninstalled all the CTP componenets from Add-Remove programs and even deleted the registry data of that installation. I have also removed the related folders from the hard drive.

When I run the setup of the full version it says that setup has detected the beta versions of either .Net Framework, Visual Studio or SQl Server. Remove the beta components using Add-Remove programs and try again. Can anyone help me out of this problem?

I have Created CLR Object. In my CLR Method i have opened a
connection like below

1) You can only have one open context connection at a time within a clr procedure ("context connection=true"). Is it possible that in the missing code snippets for your example (...'s) that you are attempting to open another context connection? For instance, calling Triggers.Connection(true) again anywhere prior to the Triggers.Connection(false) call would result in this exception. The call stack where the "Connection already in use" exception is thrown would be useful to track down this cause.

2) June CTP has a couple of bugs where an exception, especially if due to an attention (i.e. cancel) signal, can cause the connection to not properly clean itself up from one invocation of the procedure to the next. This problem would not be apparent on first invocation of the proc, and would temporarily be cleared by running "DBCC FREEPROCCACHE".

One other question I have is how you get the SqlConnection from the CLRTriggers() method to the Test() method. It would appear that the "con" field must be static, true? If this is the case, you will almost certainly run into problems, since your trigger can fire on multiple threads, yet the SqlConnection object is valid only in the procedure in which it was created.

I'd like to note that the recommended use pattern for SqlConnection (and cmd.ExecuteReader) is to put them in a "using" statement to guarantee cleanup and help see the lifetime scope of the connection. i.e.

using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection("context connection = true")) {
con.Open();
...
}

and

using (SqlDataReader rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader()) {
...
}

Problem connecting to SSAS

I have installed the September CTP and am having problems connecting to Analysis Services. The error message I'm getting is "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it (System)". The log-in is set identically to what's set in Reporting Services, SQL Server 2005, etc. Has anybody else come across this error?

I have exactly the same problem and can't find what the problem it. I can't connect using SQL Server Management Studio at all. I tried turning off my virus scan and firewalls but nothing helped.|||I have the same problem.|||only i try to connect to RTM version of the Reporting Services.

anybody found a solution yet? i see a lot of posts with this problem.
